As with the “calendario” also known as “calendar” of many other countries around the world, the Colombian calendario is filled with a variety of events all the way through the whole year. The Colombian calendario has such an abundant amount of holidays that even the Colombians themselves have a hard time remembering which holiday is when. Some of the events that appear on the calendario are the following: Semanta Santa, Feria de Las Flores, Carnaval de Blancos y Negros, Colombian Independence Day…etc. Another thing about the Colombian calendario is that many holidays fall on a Monday for them. And if by chance they do not end up being on a Monday, they hold off on the celebration until the following Monday.
