Enero

The term ‘enero’ in Spanish translates to ‘January.’ In Enero of 2008, a volcano in Bogota, Columbia erupted. The name of this volcano is The Galeras – it is regarded  as the most active and treacherous volcano in Columbia. Due to the eruption of The Galeras in Enero, there was much anxiety in the surrounding areas of the volcano. However, thankfully nobody was reported to have been injured.

The citizens of Columbia were lucky in Enero of 2008 unlike a previous time when The Galeras had erupted. This previous time would be in reference to the explosion in 1993. The Galeras had successfully claimed nine lives in 1993. Fortunately such destructive explosions have not happened in recent times.
